SIX MOVEMENTS OF THE SPINE
If you feel tense throughout your whole body, and/or your back feels tight, you are likely holding a lot of tension in and around your spine. These gentle movements that explore the six movements of the spine help to release tension in the muscles around your spine. When you pay attention to sensation in your body, your brain expends energy on the sensory input - it helps to quiet the parts of the brain that are responsible for stress reactions.

Moderate to Physically Demanding Yoga
I WANT A CHALLANGE!
Many people love to "burn off a few layers" by moving through a physically demanding practice. This is a moderate to demanding short practice to do just that! There is no right or wrong! What is your body calling for? If our inner landscape feels disconnected and chaotic, sometime doing a practice that is physically challenging gives us a gateway into sensing our body, and allows us then to move into the quieter practices.

CLIENT'S SEQUENCE FOR WK4
This video includes a lot of mindful movement to strengthen around hips, with chronic back pain as a central focus. We explore some strengthening exercises, a couple of postures, and a touch of laughter Yoga. This sequence was created as a guide for a client who lives with chronic back pain - she pre-selected the postures that felt right for her in our wee session, so there is several references to a prior conversation.
