Art of Relaxation is a quiet, guided practice for people living with the residue of stress—tight muscles, wired-and-tired energy, racing thoughts, and difficulty truly resting. In a safe, contained environment, we gently unwind long-held patterns so they can loosen and release, like finally setting down old baggage you no longer need to carry.
This is not a space for retelling stories or revisiting difficult events. Instead, we focus on your present-moment experience: how stress shows up now in your body, breath, and nervous system, and how to shift those patterns without giving them any more power.

Grounded in TIYT® methodology, Somatic Yoga® (Eleanor Criswell), and Sundara Yoga Therapy’s Sensory Enhanced Restorative approach, the class weaves together:
-
neuromuscular repatterning
-
fascia-informed positioning and support
-
sensory-enhanced restorative sequencing
-
deliberate self-regulation exercises
Many classes also include gentle contemplative elements, such as:
-
contemplative cues and quiet periods for reflection
-
ancient practices like trataka (candle gazing) and japa mala (beads)
-
brief readings or poems, gratitude practices, and special meditations
-
occasional mini-ceremonies to honor letting go and welcoming ease
Together, these practices calm the body and nervous system, AND tend the “spirit” side of being human—cultivating qualities like self-love, loving-kindness for others, hope, quiet joy, and a deeper sense of contentment—without any specific religious framework.
