Genevieve Yellin, e-RYT, PYT
I have been an official student of yoga since 1994 (studying with a teacher), but spent the prior decade "doing" yoga from a book. My early years of teaching was more in the aerobics realm, teaching my uneducated version of "yoga". I enrolled in a 200 hr teacher training program many years later to go the official Yoga Alliance route. I completed my 500hour Professional Yoga Therapist Certificate (PYT-RYT500)) with Joseph LePage/Integrative Yoga Therapy, and am presently enrolled in my 1000hr PYT internship, studying with Joseph LePage & Beth Gibbs. Additional training in Functional Yoga Therapy with Maria KaliMa, Restorative Yoga with Judith Lasater, Anatomy Trains Myofacial studies with Tom Myers (KMI), Svastha Yoga with the Krishnamacharya Mandarim in Chennai India, Vipassana Meditation, Prenatal Certification, Special Kids Yoga Certification, Level 2 Reiki, and Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy has added much depth to my own practice as well as informing my teaching. My professional background is in biochemistry; I spent many years in environmental research in the University system. After several profound personal experiences and a passion for learning/teaching self-healing through a mind/body/spirit connection, I decided to dedicate all of my energy to teaching Holistic and Alternative self-healing modalities.
I am forever grateful to all of my teachers, especially my "life teachers" that are closest to my heart:my loving husband Bob (Bear), 5 wonderful kids, and furry family members-they teach me about life, love and happiness everday. I am the Director of the Sundara Yoga Therapy's IYT 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training Program, a Registered Yoga School and honored to be a faculty member of Integrative Yoga Therapy's 200 hr TT program. .

Jennifer Fairbank, MSW, RYT, PYT;
After several years in the fitness industry as a personal trainer, I became a Registered Yoga Teacher in 2003 to enhance my knowledge and dive deeper into the mind/body connection. Falling in love with the practice, I yearned for more knowledge; I earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a Mental Health Concentration at the University of Pittsburgh. Feeling the need to approach my practice more psychosomatically, I discovered Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy and have completed the 650-hour intensive training. I am now a certified yoga therapy practitioner. Recently I graduated from Dharma Yoga’s 200-hour Teacher Training program here in Austin.
I offer private yoga therapy sessions, one-on-one yoga classes, and personal training sessions.
My teaching is an eclectic blend of asana and breath work that is inspired by Dharma yoga & Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy.

Meg Brooker, MFA, RYT
During the summer of 2002, I began my hatha yoga studies in New York City at the Iyengar Institute and at Movements Afoot. In the fall of 2004, I began to explore a vinyasa practice at the Inwood Peace Yoga Center, and I am grateful to director Michael von Stange for first encouraging me to pursue a yoga teacher training course. Upon relocating to Austin in 2006 for graduate studies at UT, I found the Austin yoga community to be warm and welcoming, and I completed a 200 hour teacher training program at Yoga Yoga in the fall of 2007. Since moving to Austin, my practice has consisted primarily of Anusara Yoga, and I recently finished the Anusara Immersion Part I with Christina Sell. My yoga classes emphasize optimal alignment, discovering a rhythmic relationship between breathing and moving, cultivating awareness of how mental patterning manifests in the physical body, and rekindling an innate sense of joy.
In addition to my yoga studies, I danced original Isadora Duncan repertory as a member of Lori Belilove & Company (Isadora Duncan Dance Foundation) and as a guest artist with the Duncan Dance Collective. From 2002-2006, I trained intensively in Duncan technique with Lori Belilove, Cherlyn Smith, and Marie Carstens, studying historic Duncan dances as passed down through the lines of Anna, Irma, and Maria-Teresa Duncan. I have taught dance in New York City on the faculties of the School at Steps on Broadway and the Isadora Duncan Dance Foundation. In Texas, I have taught at UT Austin and held guest artist residences at Texas State and Northwest Vista College. I have shown my own choreography in Duncan technique in Austin, New York, and Sevastopol, Ukraine. In May 2009, I completed my MFA in Performance as Public Practice at UT, and I have presented scholarship on Duncan contemporary Florence Fleming Noyes for the Society of Dance History Scholars and the Congress on Research in Dance.
Meg is also a faculty member of Sundara's yoga therapy's IYT 200 hr yoga teacher training program; she teaches sadhana, movement techniques and Teaching Essentials.

Julie Wylie
In 2003, I took my first Nia class as a way to relieve grief and stresses that were crumbling me on the inside. Much to my surprise, weekly Nia classes provided support for the many changes occurring in my life. Stronger, grounded, more flexible and agile, I quickly increased mobility as well, thanks to Nia's tools which continue today to prepare me for life's changes. Curious and energized, I now enjoy a more spirited lifestyle, pursuing a life long dream of sharing the "Joy of Movement" with others. I'm inspired to show you the way to Pleasure and Health through movement. I find as much excitement in watching Nia students grow and change as I do in introducing Nia to students for the first time!
I bring to my classes deep enthusiasm and intimacy, creating a comfortable, safe space for individuals to find physical, mental and emotional health and healing through movement. I bring over 30 years of movement and theatre experience.

I started a dedicated and serious yoga practice more than 20 years ago and I have been fortunate to study with some of the best yoga teachers in the world, including the Iyengar family in India. I travelled there several time to further my studies, and have also worked with senior Iyengar teachers such as Manouso Manos and Gabriella Giubilaro from Italy. I have been teaching for many years in Austin, but also in Florida, Europe and Canada. In my classes, I hope to inspire students to learn this beautiful practice in a methodical, safe, but also challenging manner within a harmonious learning environment. Sam Rice, RYT
I recently relocated to Austin, Texas from Whitefish, Montana. My yoga background is in Iyengar and Anusara Yoga. I am dedicated to delving deeper into the Anusara method and am currently living in Austin, TX to study with Christina Sell. I have also studied in depth with Darren Rhodes, Lois Steinberg, Judy Landecker, Jodi Petlin, and many other amazing teachers. I like to create a welcoming environment in my classes and strongly encourage laughter and humility while playfully exploring each person’s individual edge. My classes have a strong focus on alignment while helping each student achieve more awareness in both the physical and emotional body. It is the possibility of transformation that inspires my practice the most. I truly believe that by aligning with the body we begin the process of knowing ourselves more fully and compassionately.
*Note: Sam is known for her refreshingly real, humorous, and matter of fact approach to the practice of Yoga.

I have been a practitioner of yoga for more then eighteen years. I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to teach yoga for the last thirteen years, both in the U.S. and S.E. Asia. My love of the practice has guided me through multiple teacher trainings, directing a yoga studio and developing my own 200 hour yoga teacher training. My classes infuse both fluid grace and conscious embodiment inviting students to attune to the natural flow of energy that guides all of life. My teaching has been inspired by Angela Farmer & Victor Van Kooten, Rama Vernon, Shiva Rea, Kali Ray, and the students of T.K.V. Desikachar in the lineage of Sri Krishnamacharya. I am an experienced registered yoga teacher at the 500hr level, an ayurvedic practitioner and massage therapist. Susan Smythe Kung, PhD, RYT
After studying modern dance and ballet in high school and college, I started doing yoga out of a book in 1991. When I moved to Austin to attend graduate school in 1996, I was able to study yoga with a teacher for the first time, and I fell in love with the practice. After spending so many years in the competitive and judgmental dance world, the noncompetitive, nonjudgmental world of yoga was like a sanctuary. I practiced yoga for 16 years—and during that time I also taught group exercise and worked as a personal trainer—before I accepted that teaching yoga was my dharma, my path. After I finished my PhD in linguistics, I started my yoga teacher training program, and just over a year later, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. I finished my RYT200 program during my recovery; during that time, my yoga practice and studies helped me to find a peace and equanimity with life, illness, and death that I would not have been able to find otherwise. I truly believe in the power of yoga.
