This series combines Yoga with other modalities to support you in understanding and addressing the complex relationship between food, body image, exercise and behavior patterns. We will use yoga, ayurveda, nutrition consultation, personal training, breathing exercises, meditation, and journaling processes to create daily habits to better your health. When we make choices to be healthier, we become happier, and unnecessary weight drops away!
You will receive a personal journal to record your actions, a home-based yoga practice, personal training exercises, and nutritional recommendations from both eastern & western modalities. Weekly homework helps to encourage creating and maintaining new healthier habits into your life!
Caroline McCarter has been practicing yoga for 15 years, but it became more of an interest to her after taking a college yoga philosophy course in 1997 during her undergraduate years at University of Michigan. At that time, she was focusing on becoming a musician and librarian, a pursuit which she continued earning her a Masters degree in Library and Information Science in 2001.
But over the years, as she continued to practice yoga on her own, Caroline became more and more aware of the self-actualizing effects of her yoga practice. In particular, she noticed how it drew her focus to the inner workings of her body, rather than its outside appearance.
With that discovery, Caroline became passionate about helping others like her in the world; people with false perceptions about themselves that come with body image obsessions and disordered eating patterns. She views yoga as a vehicle for healing and has made yoga therapy her life's work.
